In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the National Park Service (NPS) will be offering free admission to everyone wanting to check out a national park during this upcoming holiday long weekend, Monday, January 15, 2018.
Come out and celebrate this historic day by enjoying the beautiful natural scenery, water, and animals living in their natural habitat.
The National Parks located closest to the Jacksonville, FL area is the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument and Timucuan Ecological & Historic Preserve.
If you are willing to drive a little bit further, there are many other National Parks located all around Florida such as: Big Cypress National Preserve, Biscayne National Park, Canaveral National Seashore, De Soto National Memorial, Dry Tortugas National Park, Everglades National Park, Fort Mantanzas National Monument, Gulf Islands National Seashore, and the Gullah/Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor.
